At the Credit Valley Hospital we are committed to providing respectful care that focuses on the unique needs of the individual. Providing equitable care that respects the dignity and independence of people with disabilities is important to achieving patient and family centred care.
The Ontario legislature passed an Act to strengthen the law on creating a barrier-free Ontario for people with disabilities. The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005, outlines mandatory standards that will improve accessibility in five areas beginning with the Customer Service Standard.
As per the requirements of the Customer Service Standard, The Credit Valley Hospital recently filed its first compliance report (pdf) to the Province. Find out the hospital is doing to create a more accessible environment.
The Credit Valley Hospital is committed to values that drive our actions and position us to be the finest hospital in Canada. As our society becomes more diverse, we understand that providing excellence in patient care will be directly related to our ability to provide culturally and linguistically sensitive services.
At Credit Valley our goal is to provide care that is culturally and linguistically sensitive and respectful. It is characterized by consideration for the unique needs, beliefs and values of every individual.
Staff receives education and training to help them provide culturally sensitive care.
As a patient or visitor to the hospital, we would appreciate your assistance in helping us to provide the best care possible.
If you have any questions or suggestions on how we might better respond to your needs, please contact us at cvhpr@cvh.on.ca
